Shayla is at it again! As part of the Wicked Reads series, which features the Wicked Writers in all sorts of short novellas, Ms. This review was posted at Under The Covers If he had been in any other series and not connected to Jack, Deke, Luc, Hunter and Logan, ‘just sex’ would have been fine, but I really, really was hoping for more about him. This book is basically one long, very hot sex scene, that gave some closure to Brandon’s story, who I surprisingly came to adore. I think Brandon definitely had the potential for a truly great story here, but maybe because it was so far in the past it would have been too little too late for the readers. That’s really about all we got of that story, except of course Jack falling hard for Morgan and marrying her. Well, Jack wanted revenge so he planned to seduce Morgan, who he thought was Brandon’s fiancée, and was going to send Brandon a video tape of the seduction/sex. He’s Morgan’s stepbrother and the bastard guy who had slept with Jack Cole’s wife. To be honest, as I was beginning Wicked to Love I couldn’t quite remember who Brandon was, so in case you’re scratching your head and wondering the same, I’ll fill you in. Wicked to Love is book 5.5 in the Wicked Lovers series, and while I was glad to get Brandon Ross’s story, I sure wish it had been longer.

So ends Nelson’s Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom, one of the best selling political memoirs of all time. But I can rest only for a moment, for with freedom come responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended.” “I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. It’s a good choice for those who are looking to escape into some lighter fare. “A Daring Sacrifice” is a quick read - I read it in less than two days. Lady Karina lives in a convent and expects to become a nun someday. ENRICHED A wealthy noblewoman with a heart of gold, a wounded knight closed off to love, and the sacrifices for a chalice that can bring healing. Author Jody Hedlund is never heavy-handed with her characters, and she manages to stay truthful to the Robin Hood tale while making the story her own. by Jody Hedlund ( 321 ) 7.46 During a time when legends were born. “A Daring Sacrifice” is full of action and intrigue and a nice touch of romance. This choice will help the book crossover to other markets, which it deserves. One of the first things I noticed about “A Daring Sacrifice,” is that while it’s clean of sex and profanity, it’s also light on religious overtones - something that’s not always the case with books from Zondervan. Juliana never prepared herself to fall in love with a knight. When Juliana crosses paths with someone from her past her secrets begin to unravel. But as the price on Juliana’s head starts going up, there’s a fear she won’t be able to hide her identity forever. Life is a bit dangerous but not unmanageable. She disguises herself as a man and spends her days making reparations for her uncle’s cruelty - stealing from the rich to feed the poor. That changed when her father died and her uncle took over the land that was right fully hers. As the daughter of a lord, she was set to have all she could ever want. Juliana was supposed to have a charmed life. Jody Hedlund reimagines the tale of Robin Hood in her latest novel, “A Daring Sacrifice.” “A DARING SACRIFICE,” by Jody Hedlund, Zondervan Gld edition, March 1, 2016, Softcover, $12.99 (young adult) The dark side of K-pop is always up for discussion, given the things that trainees have to go through and much like many people have already stated, Shine does almost read like a memoir. There’s just something so refreshing and familiar when it comes to a story like this, but it also successfully has its dark moments that give the story that much more depth. As a fan of K-dramas, I have always wanted a book that read like the ridiculously melodramatic yet comical stories that they usually have, and Shine fit the bill for me. I went into Shine with extremely high hopes and it delivered everything I wanted and then some. Yet even through the dark side of K-pop, there are comical moments riddled throughout and plenty of classic K-drama tropes to give readers of this novel a feel for the niche genre that it falls in. Jessica Jung does not stray from the harsh realities that K-pop artists face not only to debut, but to stay at the top. If you are a fan of K-pop and K-dramas, then you’re going to love Shine.
